Ajijic is a small town on the north shore of Lake Chapala in west-central Mexico. It is a weekend retreat for residents of nearby Guadalajara and a winter (or even permanent) retreat for thousands of Canadians and Americans. The principal attractions are its near-perfect climate and, by northern standards, inexpensive real estate and health care. Fresh food and colorful buildings are a bonus.
